REGGAE

As Reggae Month celebrations grow across the Caribbean, reggae’s tradition of resistance and social commentary takes center stage with a new collaborative release on reparatory justice. Grammy-winning Gramps Morgan joins Gassy Dread, the recording identity of Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne, for "Reparations", a single addressing colonialism and slavery’s lasting impact while highlighting reggae’s historic role in liberation movements and advocacy worldwide today.

Toronto-based reggae, pop, soul, and jazz artist Belinda Brady delivers a powerful visual for “Rise Up,” a stirring anthem inspired by the devastation of Hurricane Melissa. Released via Slammin’ Media and Believe Distribution, the Eddie Bullen-produced track channels resilience and unity while supporting relief efforts in western Jamaica. Brady’s commanding vocals and heartfelt storytelling transform tragedy into hope, with the video underscoring a call for solidarity, action, and collective healing through music with purpose.

Protoje returns with “At We Feet,” a stirring new single produced by Winta James and featuring Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, released January 16 alongside an official video directed by SAMO. The first-ever collaboration between the two Jamaican artists, the modern roots-reggae anthem centers faith, resilience, and spiritual grounding. Serving as the third single from Protoje’s upcoming album The Art of Acceptance (due Spring 2026), the track reflects rural consciousness, gratitude, and trust in a higher design.

Rising Jamaican artist Armanii taps into pure emotion with the official video for “Lose Your Love,” a standout rooted in his Kingston upbringing and deep respect for classic dancehall. Blending reggae warmth with soulful balladry, the track features rich horns, gritty guitar riffs, and bright steel drums that nod to legends like Beres Hammond and Bob Marley. Armanii calls the song his most personal, praising its universal, sing-along appeal across generations. Following a breakout year that included a Dancehall Impact Award win and a Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Live performance, “Lose Your Love” captures the heart of an artist whose debut album showcases both tradition and fearless versatility.

Skip Marley (grandson of Bob) continues his family’s legendary reggae lineage with the release of his new video for “In Our Sight,” filmed in Jamaica and directed by Aka.Ruppi. Produced by Supa Dups, the track samples Al Green’s “Love and Happiness” while drawing inspiration from Dennis Brown and The Abyssinians, weaving reggae’s past into the present. The visuals highlight unity and perseverance, showing Marley rallying community strength. With support from Canadian rapper Kardinal Offishall, the song delivers a timeless call for resilience and generational connection.
