A year after the death of Malcolm-Jamal Warner, his widow, Tenisha Warner, has filed a civil lawsuit against his mother, Pamela Warner, over more than $1.27 million she says is owed under the late actor's premarital agreement and other financial commitments. The complaint alleges that Warner, who died in July 2025 at age 54 in an accidental drowning while vacationing in Costa Rica, failed to fulfill obligations that included a $1 million life insurance policy naming Tenisha as beneficiary, Roth IRA contributions, annual anniversary payments, and a monthly salary for her role as his chief of staff. Tenisha also seeks to have the prenuptial agreement declared valid, claiming she has received none of the promised payments. In a statement, she said legal action became necessary to protect her and the couple's nine-year-old daughter after private efforts to settle the estate failed, adding that Warner had intended to update his outdated 1996 estate plan before his death.
Netflix has renewed Tyler Perry's hit drama Beauty in Black for a fourth season, reversing an earlier announcement that Season 3 would be the series' last.
