Jaheim to Appear in Court on Animal Cruelty Charges

Grammy-nominated R&B artist Jaheim, born Jaheim Hoagland, is scheduled to appear in court on Monday in Fulton County to face six counts of animal cruelty. The charges stem from an early May arrest after authorities discovered multiple dogs allegedly kept in inhumane conditions. Known for hits like “Just in Case” and “Anything,” the singer is accused of failing to provide adequate food, water, sanitary conditions, and ventilation for six dogs identified as Tweet, Tip, Taka, Tink, Timber, and Tanger.
According to NBC News, Fulton County Animal Control initially responded on April 27 to a report of a malnourished dog inside an RV parked at a shopping mall. Upon returning with police the following day, officers reported that Jaheim had removed the animals. One dog was described in an affidavit as “severely emaciated,” with its rib cage visibly protruding. Authorities later located the RV again at a different site, leading to Jaheim's arrest. He was released from custody a day later.
This is not Jaheim’s first run-in with animal cruelty allegations. In 2021, he was arrested in New Jersey after more than a dozen dogs were found living in allegedly unsafe and unsanitary conditions at his home. At least one of those dogs had to be euthanized, according to officials.
