Ghanaian-American singer-songwriter MOLIY has reached a new milestone in her fast-rising career, signing a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music, the publishing arm of Warner Music Group. The agreement covers her existing catalogue and future works, ensuring her songwriting continues to reach audiences worldwide. Unlike a traditional record deal, this publishing partnership focuses on managing and monetizing her compositions, from licensing opportunities to royalty collection.


MOLIY first made waves in 2020 with her debut EP Wondergirl, which garnered attention across Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya, with standout tracks like “Loud” featuring Kkeda. Her breakthrough moment came the following year with a feature on Amarae’s The Angel You Don’t Know, particularly the viral hit “Sad Girlz Luv Money.” The remix with Kali Uchis skyrocketed into the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Top 40, solidifying her as a global name in the Afrobeats scene.


In 2024, MOLIY reached new heights with “Shake It To The Max (Fly),” a collaboration with producer Silent Addy. The track went viral on TikTok, hitting Number One on both the US and UK Afrobeats Singles Charts and climbing to Number 12 on the UK Official Singles Chart. A wave of remixes followed, featuring stars like Shenseea, Skillibeng, Sean Paul, and Major Lazer, with more big names lined up. The single also earned her a Best Afrobeats nomination at the MTV VMAs, signaling her growing award-season presence.


Her success continued on stage when she became the first Ghanaian artist to perform at the BET Awards in Los Angeles, a historic moment that highlighted Ghana’s expanding influence on the global music scene. Currently, MOLIY is touring across the Caribbean, Europe, and the US while working on new material to build on her explosive momentum.


Through Warner Chappell’s support, MOLIY will gain access to creative writing camps, collaborations, and sync placements in films, commercials, and gaming platforms. This partnership promises to amplify her voice worldwide, further solidifying her reputation as one of Afrobeats’ brightest stars. Duane “Keefe D” Davis has rejected a plea deal ahead of his scheduled trial in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur, continuing to maintain that he is innocent. Davis’ decision comes as jury selection is set to begin August 10, 2026, in one of hip-hop’s most closely watched criminal cases. Prosecutors have alleged that Davis was involved in the drive-by shooting that claimed Shakur’s life, but the longtime suspect has repeatedly denied committing any crime. In a recent interview with 8News Now, Davis said he sees no reason to accept a deal that could potentially send him to prison for decades. The 63-year-old cited his age and health issues, including a past battle with cancer and three heart stents, while explaining why he rejected the reported offer. Davis also maintained that other individuals were responsible for the shooting and insisted that he is an innocent man. Shakur was shot multiple times after attending the Mike Tyson-Bruce Seldon heavyweight title fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996. The rapper remained hospitalized for six days before dying from his injuries at age 25. The case remained unsolved for more than two decades before Davis was arrested in 2023 in connection with the shooting. His upcoming trial is expected to bring renewed attention to one of music history’s most enduring mysteries.
