The Roots Picnic has officially revealed its full 2026 lineup, led by hip-hop icon Jay-Z and neo-soul legend Erykah Badu. Jay-Z will headline Saturday, May 30, while Badu closes out the festival on Sunday, May 31. The event will take place at Belmont Plateau, marking the festival’s first time at the scenic location known for its skyline views. This year’s lineup features an eclectic mix of artists, including Kehlani, Brandy, T.I., De La Soul, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jermaine Dupri, Wale, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Andra Day, among others. The festival will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of Go-Go music with a special all-star performance. Organizers say the move to Belmont Plateau comes after addressing challenges from last year’s event, including long entry lines and communication issues. With support from city officials like Cherelle Parker, the revamped festival promises improved logistics, including additional entrances, enhanced communication tools, and upgraded experiences for attendees. The changes aim to deliver a smoother, more enjoyable experience for fans this year.
