Nia Smith - High [Music Video]

Album cover for PJ Morton, with “Close Enough” in red text over a wood-paneled background.

British singer-songwriter Nia Smith continues the rollout for her forthcoming EP Payback Is A Dog with the release of “High” and its accompanying video directed by Richard Pope. Dreamy, reflective, and emotionally rich, the song explores the process of outgrowing people, relationships, and experiences that once felt essential. Using the metaphor of faded, frayed jeans, Smith captures themes of renewal and self-discovery. The visually stirring video finds her alone outdoors in quiet reflection, delivering a relatable and therapeutic performance that perfectly complements the track’s introspective mood.

A$AP Rocky is standing firmly behind his latest album, Don’t Be Dumb, despite feeling that many listeners have yet to fully appreciate the project. In a new cover story for VIBE magazine, marking the publication’s return to print after more than a decade, the rapper praised the album's diverse sound and creative direction. Rocky explained that he intentionally avoided sticking to one style throughout the project, encouraging fans to take the time to sit with the music before passing judgment. The album, his first full-length release in eight years, showcases what he describes as artistic growth and evolution. The Harlem native also made it clear that he has no interest in chasing trends or meeting public expectations. Comparing himself to a chef serving five-star meals, Rocky said he creates music that reflects his own tastes rather than trying to deliver mass-market appeal. While he acknowledged that not everyone will connect with his artistic choices, he remains confident in his vision and believes audiences will gain a deeper appreciation for the album through live performances. Rocky is currently bringing the project to fans on his ongoing Don't Be Dumb World Tour, which he says provides the type of celebration and connection that motivates him as an artist. Beyond music, Rocky discussed family life and raising his children with global superstar Rihanna. The couple share sons RZA and Riot, as well as daughter Rocki, and Rocky acknowledged that his children will grow up with privileges few people experience. Addressing the inevitable “nepo baby” label, he joked that spending time with their less fortunate relatives will help keep them grounded and humble. The lighthearted comment quickly resonated with fans online, highlighting Rocky’s belief that real-life family experiences are one of the best ways to teach perspective and gratitude.

Singer and actress Cassie Ventura has revealed in newly filed court documents that she no longer resides in the United States and has no plans to return. According to a declaration dated May 1, submitted as part of her effort to contest a lawsuit filed by male escort Clayton Howard, Ventura stated, “I reside outside of the United States. I do not intend to move back to the United States.” The filing has sparked questions about her current whereabouts, though neither Ventura nor her representatives have publicly disclosed where she now lives. The filing comes roughly a year after Ventura testified in the federal criminal case against her former partner, Sean “Diddy” Combs. During the trial, she detailed allegations of abuse that she said occurred throughout their relationship, which lasted from 2007 to 2018. Ventura previously filed a civil lawsuit against Combs in 2023, accusing him of rape, physical abuse, and coercion. The case was settled within 24 hours, and she later testified that she received a $20 million settlement from Combs and his companies. Combs was ultimately convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges. Meanwhile, Ventura remains involved in a separate legal dispute stemming from a lawsuit filed by Howard in July 2025. Howard, identified as one of the male escorts prosecutors alleged was hired by Combs, claims Ventura exposed him to a sexually transmitted disease and failed to inform him of a pregnancy that ended in an abortion. He also alleges she manipulated him into drug use and sexual acts that resulted in physical and emotional harm. Howard is seeking damages for medical expenses, lost wages, emotional distress, and other alleged injuries. Ventura has denied the allegations, and the legal proceedings remain ongoing.
