A year after the death of Malcolm-Jamal Warner, his widow, Tenisha Warner, has filed a civil lawsuit against his mother, Pamela Warner, over more than $1.27 million she says is owed under the late actor's premarital agreement and other financial commitments. The complaint alleges that Warner, who died in July 2025 at age 54 in an accidental drowning while vacationing in Costa Rica, failed to fulfill obligations that included a $1 million life insurance policy naming Tenisha as beneficiary, Roth IRA contributions, annual anniversary payments, and a monthly salary for her role as his chief of staff. Tenisha also seeks to have the prenuptial agreement declared valid, claiming she has received none of the promised payments. In a statement, she said legal action became necessary to protect her and the couple's nine-year-old daughter after private efforts to settle the estate failed, adding that Warner had intended to update his outdated 1996 estate plan before his death.

Netflix has renewed Tyler Perry's hit drama Beauty in Black for a fourth season, reversing an earlier announcement that Season 3 would be the series' last. The renewal follows a strong second season, which was released in two parts and spent six weeks in Netflix's Global Top 10 while reaching No. 1 in 17 countries. Created, written, directed and executive produced by Perry, the series follows Kimmie and Mallory, two women from vastly different worlds whose lives become deeply intertwined. Season 3 will see Kimmie secure a place within the powerful Bellarie family before a deadly feud forces her into an uneasy alliance with Mallory as they navigate blackmail, revenge and long-buried secrets. Perry thanked fans for their continued support, saying there was much more of the Bellarie family's story he wanted to tell. Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date for Season 3.

Acclaimed actor Delroy Lindo is set to receive one of Hollywood's highest honors after being named to the Hollywood Walk of Fame's Class of 2027. Marvel Studios has officially unveiled the future of Wakanda, announcing that David Jonsson will star as Prince T'Challa II, the new Black Panther, in Black Panther 3, set for release on Dec. 15, 2028. Director Ryan Coogler returns to helm the highly anticipated sequel, with Letitia Wright reprising her role as Shuri alongside Winston Duke as M'Baku. The new chapter continues the legacy of Chadwick Boseman, whose iconic portrayal of T'Challa ended with his passing in 2020. Jonsson, who recently appeared in Alien: Romulus and The Long Walk, now takes center stage in one of Marvel's most celebrated franchises. The original Black Panther became a global phenomenon, earning $1.3 billion worldwide, seven Academy Award nominations, and three Oscar wins, including Best Costume Design and Best Original Score.

The legacy of Wu-Tang Clan founding member Ol' Dirty Bastard continues to live on after the late rapper was honored with a street renaming ceremony in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. On Saturday, July 25, a stretch of Putnam Avenue officially became ODB Jones Way , recognizing the influential MC, born Russell Tyrone Jones, in the community he called home. Family members, friends, fans, and local officials gathered for the unveiling, led by New York City Council Member Chi Ossé, who championed the designation. The celebration featured the rapper's 1995 hit "Brooklyn Zoo" as the new street sign was revealed. During the ceremony, ODB's eldest brother, Ramsey Jones, reflected on the family's deep ties to the neighborhood, noting that their grandmother's home sits on the same block where the new sign now stands. He also introduced their mother, Cherry Jones, as the family commemorated the occasion. The newly renamed street is located beside a mural recreating the cover art from Ol' Dirty Bastard's landmark 1995 debut album, Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version.
