Tamar Braxton Says She’s Done With The Braxtons Amid Ongoing Family Tension

Tamar Braxton has announced that she is officially stepping away from The Braxtons, following a tumultuous season marked by escalating conflict among the sisters. The most recent episodes documented rising tensions between Tamar and Towanda Braxton, including a dispute over Towanda’s wedding date, which Tamar believed was intentionally scheduled close to her birthday. Matters worsened after Tamar received a cease-and-desist letter for inviting her niece onto her podcast, further straining family trust.
The situation reached a boiling point during a family meeting meant to discuss caring for their mother, Evelyn Braxton, after surgery. The conversation quickly spiraled into chaos as Tamar questioned how the family attorney obtained her address, a claim Towanda and Trina Braxton denied any involvement in. The confrontation escalated into a near physical altercation between Tamar and Toni Braxton, with Trina being struck while trying to intervene and Towanda having a drink knocked toward her. Following the incident, Towanda disinvited Tamar from her wedding, though Tamar later reconciled with Trina and Toni during a sister retreat.
Despite fan hopes that Tamar and Towanda would eventually make peace on a future season, Tamar has made it clear she will not be returning. Addressing supporters directly, she said the show is not canceled and continues to perform well, but she no longer wants to participate. “It’s not healthy,” Tamar explained, adding that she wants to focus on projects that reflect who she is now, not who she was years ago. She also said she feels vindicated, claiming past narratives about her were false and that the truth has finally come to light.
