About Tina Knowles

Tina Knowles, mother of Beyoncé and Solange, recently opened up about her battle with breast cancer in an emotional interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings. The 71-year-old shared that she was diagnosed with Stage 1 cancer in her left breast after a delayed mammogram revealed two tumors—one benign and the other malignant. She admitted the diagnosis came as a shock, especially since she had always prioritized her health. Knowles had postponed her regular screenings during the COVID-19 pandemic, a delay that may have prevented even earlier detection.

Despite the setback, the cancer had not spread and was classified as slow-growing. In August, Knowles underwent a lumpectomy and is now cancer-free. On the day of her surgery, Beyoncé, Solange, and close friends surrounded her with love and laughter to calm her nerves. Solange and niece Angie Beyincé even sang “Walk With Me,” a family favorite that brought her peace and reminded her of divine protection. “I went in there feeling just like God has got me,” Knowles shared tearfully.

Later, Knowles almost missed the 2024 Glamour Women of the Year event due to a post-surgical infection, but the honor felt deeply meaningful after her health journey. "I deserve this," she said, reflecting on years of shying away from recognition.

Across ten majestic tracks, Dave explores the weight of fame, the erosion of faith, and the cost of carrying both cultural and personal responsibility.
