Ray J Arrested After Alleged Domestic Dispute, Livestreamed Incident Under Review

Singer and actor Ray J was arrested Thursday morning in Los Angeles following an alleged domestic dispute that police say may have been livestreamed on social media. LAPD officials told ABC News they responded to a 911 call reporting a possible custody dispute, with the caller also claiming Ray J — born Willie Norwood — might have been armed. The 44-year-old performer was taken into custody at the department’s Van Nuys station, where his bail was set at $50,000.
The incident drew widespread attention after outlets including TMZ reported that Ray J had been livestreaming on Instagram, describing his holiday as “the worst Thanksgiving in the f------ world.” During the stream, he allegedly argued with his estranged wife, Princess Love Norwood, and at one point appeared to grab a handgun from a table. ABC News has reached out to Ray J’s representatives and attorneys for comment.
Ray J, known for hits such as “One Wish” and “Sexy Can I,” has had a tumultuous relationship with Princess Love. The couple, who share two children and starred together on Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, married in 2016 and have filed for divorce four times. Court records show the latest petition was filed in February 2024 and remains ongoing.
